Hyperhidrosis & Excessive Sweating

多汗症
  • Sweating excessively during the summer
  • Concerned about the smell of sweat

Our clinic’s treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis and hyperhidrosis primarily uses "botulinum toxin injections" to suppress the activity of eccrine glands, which are often the cause of hyperhidrosis.

We propose appropriate treatments based on the symptoms and concerns of each patient, under the supervision of a physician.

What are Hyperhidrosis and Bromhidrosis?

Axillary Hyperhidrosis

ワキガ

Also known as bromhidrosis, it is a condition where a distinctive odor emanates from under the arms.

Sweat is secreted from two types of sweat glands. The sweat that causes bromhidrosis comes from the apocrine glands.
The odor is mainly emitted from under the arms, the genital area, and ear canals.
If you feel that the sweat under your arms is somewhat sticky, it means bacteria are breaking down the sebum contained in the sweat, which produces the characteristic smell of bromhidrosis.

On the other hand, the sweat from the eccrine glands is mostly water, which makes it feel smooth.

Hyperhidrosis

多汗症

It is a condition where excessive sweating occurs even in situations where you wouldn't normally sweat.

Many people find it problematic when their hands become sweaty and dampen paper, or when they cause discomfort during a handshake.

Hyperhidrosis can either involve excessive sweating all over the body or occur locally, such as on the hands or feet, with various underlying causes.
